How To Use Technology Efficiently
Technology empowers you provided it does not overwhelm you. Whether it is software or scores of gadgets around you, there is so much variety, there are so many features, that you are lost in this maze of plenty and are unable to perform what you really need to perform. I few days ago I don’t remember on whose blog I read that you should use the Darkroom text editing software rather than MS Word because Darkroom simply lets you write on a dark screen, there are no buttons, no icons, no popup help and menu bars. There is your text, and you; nothing else.
Similarly, how many features do you use in your phone? Among 50 odd software installed on your computer, how many do you use? We get more than 100 channels, or may be 200 (I have never counted but I’m sure they have more than 100) and we hardly watch 6-7 of them
Technology can cause great distractions and it can be counter-productive more often than not. A post at Pick The Brain tells you how to use technology, or sometimes avoid it, to work efficiently.
