The problem with being active on Facebook is that all your updates are posted on your timeline and this means whatever activities you indulge in on Facebook become visible to all those you have befriended. This may pose some problems if there are some updates that shouldn’t be seen by (that should be hidden from) certain individuals such as your spouse, your parents, your colleagues, et cetera.
Although you can create groups to post updates and activity notifications to just a particular set of people it is not foolproof and those activities can be available to everybody in your friends list.
Facebook has a comprehensive list of privacy settings that you can easily tweak to control your appearance and activities on Facebook. You can hide particular activities and postings from your friends, family and colleagues. You can also hide your Facebook posts from specific or selected people.
In order to hide your recent Facebook activities on Facebook click Account and then Privacy Settings. You arrive at this screen (click image to enlarge):
Here you can see your present privacy settings. You can click “Customize settings” to completely decide who should see your Facebook activities and who shouldn’t and once you click you arrive at this screen (click image to enlarge):
By using various drop-down options you can decide what Facebook activities become visible on your Facebook profile page and which ones are hidden. For instance if there are certain games you would like to participate in and you wouldn’t want your friends and colleagues to know about them, you can hide them using this screen.
