Do you constantly get one of those emails that declare you the "lucky winner" of so and so millions and then instruct you to respond to a Yahoo! or an AOL email account? They also ask you to keep it secret for security and other reasons. You are not alone. I think everybody who uses an email must have received such messages by now. But whenever you read such a message just keep the following things in mind:
- Did you participate in any lottery scheme recently?
- Lotteries, especially of such big scales, are never drawn on randomly selected emails of people sitting thousands of miles away.
- Unless you buy a lottery ticket or pay for a lottery number you don’t win lotteries because lotteries are organized to collect money.
- No processing fee is charged when you are awarded the real lottery.
- There is no need to keep it a secret unless your person security is threatened.
- If they are giving you thousands or millions of dollars, can’t they even have an official email address? Why do they email you from an AOL, Hotmail or Yahoo account?
What do you do when you receive an email lottery scam?
Simply ignore it or forward it to your law authorities. Even if you respond to them it tells them that the email is active and they will use it to send you further spam. Just ignore it.
