How To Create A Great Website
Now I know a lot has been written on this topic so you may hardly expect anything new here. How do you create a great website and how to define a great website anyway? Is it functionality? Is it uniqueness? Is it relevance? Is it the design? Is it the timing? I think it is a combination of everything. I think a great website is that provides a solution and does exactly that without beating around the bush.
A great web site should be simple to use even if it solves the great cosmic puzzles. The user shouldn’t be bothered with the complexities that take place in order to provide the right solution. In order to create a great website you have to solve problems in the simplest manner. Although personally I feel that most website visitors are intelligent but it is often advised that you should not make them think because the more they think the more they get distracted and the less they do business with you. Unfortunately this hypothesis is correct. So make things as intuitive as possible. Don’t have big chunks of text on your website and don’t make them struggle in order to contact you or do business with you.
Seth Godin on his blog ponders over a few things that you should consider in order to create a great website.
