How To Create Good Blog Design

by Sarah Watts on October 8, 2007

Although I have seen blogs with very lousy designs doing great, if you know how to create good blog design or at least if you know how to get a good blog design created it certainly gives you an edge over other blogs. Always keep in mind that the primary strength of your blog is your content. No matter how dazzling your design is, if you don’t have good quality content you design is of no use. So my suggestion is, don’t wait for a prize-winning idea of a good blog design, and just start generating content for your blog.

That said, you do need a good blog design to make your blog stand out. It’s kind of a branding thing. People remember your blog by what it publishes, but to many people it also matters how your blog looks. People start with basic-looking designs but later on, when their blogs start doing good they hire professional blog designers to get great looking blog designs.

What makes a good blog design?

  • Ease of use
  • Easy navigation
  • Fast loading
  • Well-organized
  • Fonts and typeface that’s easy on the eyes
  • Pleasant color-contrasts
  • Captivating images
