How To Hide A Folder On Your Computer
Got shady files to hide from mom, dad or spouse (I won’t say children because they might be geekier than you)? In Windows XP you cannot encrypt files and you cannot password protect them (I guess you can do that on Linux, can you?). At the most you can "hide" the folders but then you can either hid all the folders on your computer or non. What if you want some folders visible and some invisible.
Jeff shows you a clever way to hide a folder on your computer. It is not fool-proof (because you can always "search" for the files) but it can surely keep your files away from the prying eyes, at least in your house. Let me know if there exists a utility to password protect individual folders in Windows XP.
Here’s another link that talks about encrypting files and folders and links to some useful programs.
