With everything becoming dearer by the week no matter how much you earn it always seems less than what you must earn. Although in most of the cases (in a world ruled by law and controlled by civil society) you earn proportional to your education and your skill, but it so happens sometimes that you are not getting your due. This can happen in any industry; whether you are a systems analyst in a software company or a waiter serving food at a small roadside joint; you may feel you could be earning more that what you are currently getting.
In order to increase your wages and hence your income, you can do the following:
- You can work double shifts
- You can get an additional job
- You can seek employment somewhere else
- You can ask for an appraisal
- You can ask for a promotion
I personally suggest you should always upgrade your skills and knowledge in order to get paid more. Experience and attitude also count. Natural leaders easily get managerial posts and they can communicate their thoughts more convincingly. Get Rich Slowly has a post on how you can escape from minimum wage. This post also lists some institutions and other places where you can get free training and education.
