Unetbootin just drops the necessary files at the root of your flash drive. Another interesting tool is in the "System/Administration" menu (gnome). It is the "USB start up disk creator". THis was available in previous versions of Ubuntu, but you had to install it. THis is built into the vanilla install. And you get the "pretty" ubuntu LiveCD boot menu with language selection and accessibility options, whereas building a live bootable usb stick with unetbootin you get a grey screen with Default and other options. THe files will be safe. Unetbootin just drops the necessary files at the root of your flash drive.

If i ask it to not to configure the protocol, it fails when it tries to access the mirror. I dont know why the installation should reach that step, as I have already done the "netboot" thing of burning the imaage onto my USB. Any suggestions please?
