You don’t need to open the cabinet of your CPU to know what kind of memory is installed in your computer because you can do that simply using some features of your operating system. Memory here means the RAM you have and I guess some of us know that we require RAM to run all applications (otherwise they are residing quietly somewhere on the hard disk). Now unless you are needlessly sneaky, why do you need to know what sort of memory you have got? For upgrades. If you need to upgrade your memory you should be able to figure out what sort of memory you already have.
