How To Learn From Other People
I think all our lives we learn and assimilate things from people around us. Learning from other people doesn’t mean copying them or doing exactly what they do. For instance, you can absorb the habits and attitudes of highly successful people but you cannot be successful by exactly doing what they have done to achieve success. We all have to follow our own distinct paths.
How can you actively learn from other people?
I’ll stick to the online world. While working and interacting on the Internet you come across many people who have succeeded with hard work and lots of positive attitude. Here are a few things you can do to learn from them:
- Understand what you want learn. You can only learn when you know what you want to learn.
- Be ready to learn. The more eager you are the easier it is to be receptive towards learning.
- Recognize the people from whom you want to learn. This is also very important. Constantly look for people you can learn something from.
- Communicate a lot. Communication increases your sphere of friends and acquaintances and if you are friendly with people they share their wisdom with you more readily.
- Actively participate on online forums and comment sections of other blogs.
- Read whatever they write.
- Respond to whatever they write. Ask questions. People who are successful (and who are not snobs) happily answer questions and share their knowledge.
- Regularly document whatever you learn.
- Share your learning with others

I am trying to set my own Internet business. I’ve been bombarded by content from lots of “experts”. I think what you have just shared is really fabulous advice! What I like best about your advice is that it goes full circle from receiving to giving. I am a believer of giving.
