It is extremely important to motivate yourself when you are not feeling like working especially when you have to turn in projects and assignments. People waiting for you simply don’t care about your feelings. You are supposed to complete your tasks and that’s it. So it is up to you how you motivate yourself and complete the work even when you’re not feeling like working. But why don’t you feel like working?
This happens when the work we are engaged in does not stimulate us. It rarely happens that we get to do what we really want to do especially in professional terms. If you like to paint and instead you need to file tax returns for your client then obviously you hate your work. Similarly if you feel that you should be writing content for your own blog and earning tons of money and instead you are helping others make money by writing content for you clients simply because right now you cannot afford to not to work for others makes you hate your work. This is the time when you need to motivate yourself.
The first thing to do is find something positive in your work. What about the money? You are stuck with the work because in the end of the month it helps you pay the bills. If you have a family this work provides your family financial security. Think of all those millions of people who starve and don’t have roofs over their heads simply because they don’t have the kind of job opportunities that are easily available to you. Even if you want to do something that you like don’t you have a greater chance of doing it if you have the means rather than when you don’t have the means?
Reward yourself after completing the task and this can be a great motivation. Look around yourself; you may be hating your work simply because the environment around you is not conducive enough. Change it into a friendly environment or move to another place. Find some great tips on how to motivate yourself when you are not feeling like working in this Web Worker Daily blog post.
