How to talk to your clients effectively
If you’re working as a freelancer or if you run your own business then regular interaction with present and prospective clients is a routine happening. It is very important that you talk to your client effectively and are easily able to communicate what really needs to be communicated. Whereas you don’t have to worry much about your present clients if your work is up to the mark, you have to talk effectively, clearly, to your new clients in order to get their work. You have to understand your client’s language and his or her level of understanding of the topic under discussion.
Your new client is understandably a bit cautious about hiring you. Neither overestimate not underestimate your client’s intelligence. Stick to the point and keep the information hovering around the bottom line; what the client actually wants to achieve through giving the project to you? Why has he or she contacted you in the first place? Do you have an understanding of your client’s hopes and aspirations? What is his or her target market?
Six revisions has a post that tells you how to effectively talk to your clients and obtain new projects.
